When it comes to light beer, it’s rare to achieve low calorie and big taste. If you’ve ever had a Coors, Bud, or MIller Lite, you know EXACTLY what we’re talking about. Thankfully, there have been quite a few Craft Brewers that have succeeded in creating a flavorful IPA that’s low on calories and big on taste, i.e. Oskar Blues, Firestone Walker, Victory, and a few others. Now we get to try one from our friends in Milton, Delaware…
Slightly Mighty is its name. Dogfish Head is the brewer. Here’s what they have to say about this beer:
The first and number-one selling lo-cal IPA in America, Slightly Mighty is a full-flavored, lo-cal IPA with just 95 calories per can. Brewed with a hint of monk fruit for body and complexity, Slightly Mighty is slight in calories and carbohydrates yet mighty in hop character, throwing tropical notes of pineapple, coconut, mango and citrus. (4.9% ABV)
If anyone could brew up a beer that’s big on taste and low its calories, its Dogfish Head, and given the description up above, we went into this review with more than a little bit of optimism. Click the play button on the following video to find out if Slightly Mighty lived up to our expectations:
