Did you catch the fever? The World Cup fever! It’s viral and has gone viral! And there’s no cure, Baby.

At the time of this writing, it’s Spain and Argentina for all the canicas at NewJerseyPhilaLosAngelesDallas Stadium. Thank you FIFA from the bottom our sponsorless hearts. It’s been weeks of Ronaldo, Messi, Pedri, Charo, Vitinha, Cher, Erhling, Madonna, Kane, Mbappé, Kreskin, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, headers, tackles, pitches, corners, hydration breaks, Rebecca Lowe, Zlatan, Lalas, and Viking rowers. And we’re tired and going into extra time. But we’ll go until we can’t go no more.

All of this inspired us at What We Watch When Drink to get into The Beautiful Game. So we dove (not flopped like all players do) into a soccer, uh, football classic flick, Bend It Like Beckham starring Parminder Nagra and Keira Knightley. Oh, those ladies and their mates really know this funny old game.
