Start putting any spare change and dollar bills aside! The Philadelphia leg of The Single Malt & Scotch Whisky Extravaganza will once again be held at the Union League on Friday, October 29th, 2010. This event is hosted by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and generally lasts for about 2.5 hours. A buffet dinner and unlimited whisky samples are included in the price of admission (per The Scotch Hobbyist’s Blog, discount code SH2010 will get you the SMWS member price of $120, rather than the usual $135, when you order your tickets online) . I have attended the last three Philadelphia events and am incredibly excited to attend this year’s event because it is always such a great opportunity to sample new whiskies. The Single Malt Whisky Society’s samples are particularly interesting since they are all single cask, single malt whiskies, with such names as “Slap and tingle”, “Woweee!”, “Flamenco dancer on the tongue”, and “An intriguing specimen”. FUN!
Mark your calendars boys and girls! October is right around the corner…
Slainte Mhath!
