Philly BierFest

A Brewtiful Afternoon at Philly BierFest 2024

There is absolutely no way that anyone could be bored at Philly BierFest which has been held for the past 11 years at The German Society of Pennsylvania. Even if you’re not a hardcore beer drinker, they’ve got plenty of stuff happening in their massive multi-building complex at 611 Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia to keep you thoroughly entertained (and hydrated!).

From many local beers and a live band in the auditorium/concert hall…

To local cheese and The Pathfinder tastings…

To a Home Brew competition in the balcony (which FYI, had a GREAT view of all the goings-on in the auditorium/concert hall)…

To shots of Jagermeister (with friends! In unison!) in the outdoor courtyard…

To a Roller Derby arm-wrestling competition which held EVERYONE’S attention (both young and not-so-old alike)…

To many fine folks dressed in German inspired outfits…

There was also…

  • A German Speakeasy featuring a diverse selection of imported German beers.
  • Berlin-Style Beerlesque (how did I miss this?!?)
  • Oompah-Funk by Polkadelphia which did a highly entertaining cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run”!
  • UGH Schühplattler Folk Dancers (I missed this too! I’ll blame it on the arm-wrestling competition.)

Like I said at the top, there was no shortage of entertaining and delicious options at Philly BierFest 2024. Can’t wait to see what they brew up for 2025!
