Scroll down a bit more and you’ll be able to read a press release from Ogilvy about the Guinness STOUTie, a brand new gizmo that will put your face in the foam that lays gently on top of your pint.
Prior to pulling together this post, I sent the Ogilvy email to Limpd to see what he thought of this STOUTie concept. Here’s our brief back and forth…
Limpd: Why would I want my face on the top of my beer? I drink because I have my face!
G-LO: And I drink because you have THAT face! Seriously though, while I agree that the STOUTie is a bit silly, I wouldn’t mind a trip to Dublin to check it out in person.
Limpd: Hey! I’m all for a trip to Ireland and for putting faces in the luxurious foam. I’m just not on board with it being my face. That’s a sure way to lose my appetite.
G-LO: I’m with ya there! I certainly don’t wanna see my face in a Guinness either. I’m sure they’ll offer you the option to put a more attractive face on your pint. For a price. I’d be ok with that. I guess we’ll just have to get our sorry butts to Dublin ASAP to see what this is all about.
Limpd: I’m in! And thanks to Air Lingus now flying out of Philly, the trip will be a piece of cake. When do we leave?

While we wait to see if we actually go to Dublin for a few pints (we can’t even get to Baltimore, which is just a two hour drive away, to tour the new Guinness Open Gate Brewery and Barrel House!), here’s some more information about the STOUTie…
