Beer Review – Green Flash West Coast, Soul Style, and Tropical DNA IPAs

We’re changing things up a bit on today’s episode of A Tasting at The Murder Table

The location has moved from Murder Table Studio A to Murder Table Studio B.

A third reviewer has been added to our usual cast of characters. We shall call him The Alemonger. He’s most definitely a character.

And instead of reviewing just one Craft Beer, we’ll be reviewing three; all coming from Green Flash Brewing Co of San Diego, California, a brewer that has seriously ratcheted back their distribution and is no longer available in our area, i.e. Philadelphia and South Jersey.

The three beers that we’ll be reviewing are the West Coast IPA, Soul Style IPA, and Tropical DNA Hazy IPA. Here are a few words about each beer courtesy of the Green Flash website:

West Coast IPA – As craft beer pioneers, we defined a style by brewing the benchmark West Coast IPA, putting Green Flash on the map. Made with five different hops for complex layers of pine, floral, & ripe citrus aromas.

Soul Style IPA – Our brewers rip—creating some of the finest IPAs in the lineup. Soul Style breaks gently on the palate with waves of bright citrus and floral hop flavors from layers of Citra, Simcoe and Cascade hops.

Tropical DNA Hazy IPA – Brewing beer is in our genes. Tropical DNA features a complex lush fruitiness with a bright hoppy finish. This hazy IPA is brimming with tropical citrus aromas that transport your taste buds to paradise, sip after sip.

We like to think of this review as a return to the early days of boozedancing.com, i.e. when we first embarked upon on our journey down The Craft Beer Road with such brewers as Green Flash, Stone, Ballast Point, Great Lakes, Victory, Dogfish Head, and several others. In other words, much like Inigo Montoya at the end of The Princess Bride, we’re going back to the beginning.
