On June 21, 2011, Wild Turkey officially unveiled its new $50 million distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. You can read more about this expansion on Chuck Cowdery’s blog.
As part of the unveiling, Wild Turkey Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and Associate Distiller Eddie Russell (Jimmy’s son) answered a few questions about Wild Turkey that were submitted by WhiskyCast listeners (one of the questions was submitted by our friend Don of the Beer & Whiskey Brothers blog). Below is the video of this Q&A session with these Masters of Bourbon courtesy of WhiskyCast HD. Enjoy!

We’re so going there this summer. Seriously, we are. It’s 7 hours away and we’re driving through there on the way to upstate NY. Is it sad to plan vacations around tasting opportunities? Um, no. It’s smart!

Very smart! G-lo is planning to hit several breweries on a trip he is planning to Maine and I am working in rum tasting opportunities to my trip to the islands.

This is a great day for binge drinkers everywhere. Anytime Wild Turkey enters the occasion, there is always the possibility I will wake up in a parking lot.

I guess whether that’ a good thing or a bad thing would depend upon which parking lot you woke up in.

If it is a parking lot in NJ, there is bound to be a gas station, a convenience store and a liquor store nearby. So, what’s the worry!

I had some of that American Honey tonight, that Wild Turkey makes. Even though I’m not a Wild Turkey fan, but it really wasn’t half bad. It was pretty sweet and did have a rich honey flavor.
