Single Cask Nation Dailuaine 9 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Review

A few months ago, we attended an Adelphi whisky tasting at Benash Liquor & Wines in Cherry Hill, NJ. As is usually the case whenever we’re in the seductive confines of a fine purveyor of whisky and other spirits, we wandered the aisles in search of something interesting. Whilst perusing the inventory, we stumbled upon a bottle of Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Dailuaine Distillery that was a single barrel release from Single Cask Nation. Coincidentally, the Adelphi tasting we attended was hosted by one of the founders of Single Cask Nation, i.e. the great Joshua Hatton. Given all those signs, how could we not make this purchase?

Here a few words about this whisky from the First Fill Spirits website:

Single Cask Nation began as a membership society of folks who were interested in rare, fine single cask whiskies and other spirits. Now they are a top independent bottler of spirits. The founders are Joshua Hatton & Jason Johnstone-Yellin who are both highly regarded in the whisky industry for their palates and podcast, One Nation Under Whisky.

TASTE
Aged 9 years in a first-fill bourbon barrel, cask # 312978. You love Dailuaine as much as us, right? Malty, nutty, rich, spicy, and oaky.

They said “nutty”! We like nutty. Mostly because we ARE nutty. To find out if this whisky is as nutty as us, click play on the following video:
